A short but sweet vacation

My birthday was July 29, and John, my husband, and I decided to take a short trip. Reno is less than a two-hour drive, and we like the shows and the rooms are cheap for a five-four-star hotel. I also like to pachinko a bit, and it was the start of Hot August Nights.
We arrived Sunday afternoon, stayed at the Atlantis, and by Monday the parking lot was getting full with classic cars. John likes the cars and "walking down memory lane." Good thing the Atlantis offered free valet parking.
Our room was nice, but we had a complaint and were disappointed that the staff at the front desk was indifferent. We enjoyed the Manhattan Deli and the Purple Parrot restaurant
At the Silver Legacy we caught the Andrew Kennedy show, a true rising star. Kennedy's comedy was akin to us because his mother is Latina and his father English - I am of Latin descent and John of English. We also liked O. C., the resident comedian, and I never win anything and that night I won two free tickets and planned to go see Billy Garan on Tuesday night but after eating at the buffet at the Atlantis I got sick and we came home.
We had not been to Reno for over ten years and were impressed on how Reno has cleaned up, and the Reno River Walk is very nice with a lot good restaurants and shops.
