Shoe Shine For a Dime is a tale of migration, hardship, war, fortitude, and victory. It expands from the late 1800 to the late 1900 hundreds.
A few years ago, inspired after recounting anecdotes about my grandparents, Hernan and Pastora Delgado, to my children, who urged me to write the stories for their children. The book will also include my mother, Carmen Delgado, my dad, Hector Luis Masis, and his father, General Jose Tomas Masis, a leading general in Central America's liberation from Spain.
I plan to publish Shoe Shine for a Dime by December 2024. I have done and continue to research and bring facts to light from various sources, including books written by my Tia Mina Nelson. I apologize to people in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, that it's not Spanish. Hopefully, I will be able to translate it.
